June 30, 2018 - DJ Shannon Finishes 12th in Wild West Modified Shootout Point Standings
We competed in the Wild West Modified Shootout Speedweek this past week and had an up and down week, but learned a lot and had a lot of fun along the way.

Our speedweek kicked off on a high note at the Siskiyou Motor Speedway in Yreka, CA, where we won a heat race and ran third in our second heat. This put us in a great spot for the main event, where we finished 5th.

The following night, we made the trip to the Southern Oregon Speedway in Medford, OR and ran third and fourth our two heat races, putting us into the main event, where we finished 16th.

The next night was a trip to the Coos Bay Speedway in Coos Bay, OR. We ran 2nd and 6th in our heats and again came home with a 16th place finish in the main event.

The following night was the first of two consecutive nights at the Cottage Grove Speedway in Cottage Grove, OR. We ran 5th and 7th in our heats, then finished 4th in the b, qualifying us for the feature. We ran 21st when the checkered flag flew.

The 2nd night at Cottage Grove was a forgettable one. We ran 6th in our first heat but then pulled in during our 2nd heat with mechanical troubles, ending our night.

Thursday was a day off but our trip to the Willamette Speedway in Lebanon, OR on Friday was anything but easy. We had a trailer issue along the way and didn't make it to race, but we got it fixed and made the finale at Willamette, running 2nd and 3rd in our 2 heat races and then capping off the tour with a solid 10th place finish in the main event.

Overall, we finished 12th in series points. So after missing a night, we are happy with that!

Thanks again to everyone!
